Athletic Director Dave “Droz” Drozjock said that he wasn’t surprised that Kotlarz reached 100 wins, especially after that championship win.

“Coach Kotlarz brought a storied football program back to where it belongs,” he said, and credited the coach’s philosophy for his success. “He is honest, consistent, loyal and has gained the trust of his players and staff. They know that he cares about them, not only as a player, but as a person, and they would run through a wall for him. Coach Kotlarz pays attention to detail like no one I've ever known and has a work ethic second to none.”
